It’s crucial to note that businesses are not obligated to charge the exact amounts specified in the Price Guide; rather, it establishes upper limits for pricing. The NDIS places significant emphasis on preserving participants’ freedom to choose, control, and negotiate lower service costs. Additionally, the Price Guide provides guidelines for claiming specific items, such as short notice cancellation fees for certain supports or reimbursement of travel costs.
Typically, the NDIA updates the Price Guide at the beginning of each financial year, although amendments may be released during the year.
Registered NDIA providers are required to follow the Price Guide. Similarly, unregistered providers delivering services to plan-managed clients should align their invoicing with the Price Guide. However, unregistered providers exclusively serving self-managed clients are not obligated by the price limits set in the Price Guide, though it remains a valuable reference. It’s essential to emphasize that even unregistered providers must adhere to the NDIS Code of Conduct.
